Door Eleven Productions is holding auditions for their current short film “Nicky” to be held Sunday, March 4, 2012, 2 – 7 pm; downstairs at the Somerville Theatre at 55 Davis Square, Somerville MA. We’re seeking Non-Union actors for minor unpaid positions; full credit in all listings (our website and eventually on IMDB) and DVD copy will be furnished as well as an invite to the screening at the Somerville Theatre upon completion. Film is also being planned for submission to numerous festivals throughout the country with potential for mass exposure.

Brief Synopsis:

Years after being unable to cope with his little brother’s abduction, a man seeks resolution after learning the truth.

Characters to be cast are as follows:

-ANGELA: An attractive, female co-worker of our Narrator. Overly friendly and sympathetic to his despondent disposition. Unsuccessfully attempts to engage with him on multiple occasions.
Late 20s to late 30s.

-KAREN: Narrator’s ex-wife. A comforting figure who is well acquainted with his unfortunate situation. Patient and loving, but still unable to fully understand the depth of his closed-off nature.
Late 30s to mid 40s.

-GEOF: Karen’s current husband. Blue-collar family man mostly unfamiliar with Karen and Narrator’s past.
Late 30s to early 50s.

-ALISON: Karen and Geof’s teenage daughter. Disengaged and aloof, mostly occupied by her own social world and her cell phone.
Early to late teens.

-BLAKE: Slick, corporate business type, directly involved in Nicky’s abduction.
Late 30s to late 40s.

-NICKY: Narrator’s little brother. Blonde hair, carefree, full of life. Seen only in extremely brief flashes that are most likely wishful hallucinations.
5-10 years old.

-CIGARETTE (voice only): A sarcastic compatriot to Narrator, representing a splintered piece of his isolated psyche.

Space/time is limited, approx. 15 minute slots will be assigned in advance. If you are interested please respond with head shot, resume, website, reel or anything you feel portrays your abilities/experience in the best light. Please also include your availability for March and April to participate if cast as well as preferred audition time.

A copy of the script to be provided along with agreed upon audition time.
